Our wedding invites + website

Now that our wedding has passed I’m finally gathering everything to share with you all. Aaron and I are both designers(with him also being a developer) so anything regarding design + web for our wedding we were able to save some cash and do it ourselves. This can be a blessing and a curse if you think about it. Thankfully things went pretty smoothly, I was able to take control of the printed pieces while Aaron was tasked with handling everything website wise. The end result was something we were both pretty proud of and felt fit our style and wedding aesthetic perfectly.

For the Save the Dates(not pictured) we designed and printed through Artifact Uprising which saved a ton of time and it included envelopes. Something to consider if you’re looking to upload your own design and get it pretty quickly. For the wedding invitations we wanted to bump it up a notch and get them letterpress locally. We spent a bit more on this for the quality but I think it’s definitely worth it, you can’t beat super thick stock. We also attached little insert cards with a password on it for people to RSVP on our wedding website, these we got printed for cheap through Moo. 🙂

For the website Aaron created a simple one page website that included all of the details for our big day. A button for people to RSVP which actually submitted directly to a google doc so we could see who would be attending and who wouldn’t be able to, some history about each of us, photos of each person in our wedding party, a map of where our venue was located, lodging around the area and finally a button for people to donate to our honeymoon in Italy. My favorite part about this is the subtle parallax in the header of the website. Aaron took a photo from our engagement session at the sand dunes and was able to isolate us from the sand which makes it look really awesome when you start to scroll. Just a fun little detail.

All in all it was a ton of work to take on ourselves for the wedding but I feel like it was the one area that we were able to really make sure it represented us as a couple since it’s what we both do for a living. We also enlisted the help of our friend Eva for some awesome water color lettering for us to use throughout which we loved.

Take a peek at our wedding website here. And feel free to click around and even submit an RSVP, I love the confirmation page that pops up with additional details 🙂
