After going through Pinterest for endless hours, talking ideas and sharing images with all of my bridesmaids I finally got around to creating a moodboard to organize my thoughts. Surprisingly the planning has been pretty smooth which I’m so thankful. A lot of the big planning stuff is out of the way and the wedding isn’t even until September! I think part of me is just wanting to see the end of this to-do list and luckily, we’ve been able to use the help of a lot of our talented friends so it made the decision making easy.
A lot of the decor will be pretty natural. Think moss/succulents/pinecones/driftwood/branches. I didn’t want anything over the top and sticking to natural elements feels more like us and our vibe. We wanted the wedding to be up in Lake Tahoe but I found the more I started searching the more I was attracted to the idea of just being in the woods rather than having a lake front view. So we couldn’t pass up an opportunity to get married at a family friends house in his backyard in the woods. Friends, if you ever have the opportunity to get married at someones house(and it’s gorgeous nonetheless) do it. It’s just one day and you’ll save a ton of money that can go to more fun things like the honeymoon!
I hope you don’t mind, I’ll be sharing a few wedding posts here and there. 🙂

Beautiful! Love the natural theme.
Thank you! Also, love the new site lady 🙂 killer job.
Loving all of the natural elements! Also love that it will be in a friends backyard, causal, yet meaningful!
Exactly!!! And being able to cut costs by using natural elements is a huge score. 🙂
Love this inspiration! I’ve always wanted to get married in the woods. SO happy that your planning process has been smooth! xoxo
I’m so happy we were able to find something in the woods, I really just wanted tons of tall trees surrounding us! Thanks love <3
Ah, I think this one’s attainable! Ain’t Pinterest the bomb?
so beautiful! Reminds me a bit of my own wedding decor 🙂 Looks like it is going to be a wonderful & beautiful event! As a tip from a past bride – Pinterest is AMAZING – but at a certain point its good to stop looking as often because you may start changing your mind (I know I did!). Good luck with the rest of the planning!
